Adelphia Cable Communications used several 800MHz SMR systems until Nextel bought them all. Nextel airtime was too high for Adelphia's needs. Trucks in the South Hills area may still have 2 antennas and a UHF & VHF-H quarter wave antenna where the 800MHz antenna was. This company has COMPLETELY stoped using radios of any type in the Pittsburgh area. All communication is via pager or phone or cellular.
With the purchase by Time Warner and the split up between Time Warner & Comcast look for Adelphia to show up on the ex-TCI/Comcast UHF channels below.
